Breakaway

NHL · 2026 Season
Hockey jerseys are the heaviest, most structured jerseys in any sport, and the ones people wear the most outside the arena. This is how the Breakaway and Pro builds differ, why home and away designs matter more in hockey than anywhere else, and how to size one over a hoodie.

The supporter build. Lighter weight than a Pro jersey, with a clean crest and a fit that works over everyday clothes. This is the default pick for most people.
A heavier, more structured jersey with a sturdier shoulder yoke and a longer body. Closer to the silhouette you see on the ice.
Training-weight jerseys in team colors. Lighter and often plainer than a game design, and a good option if you want team colors without a full crest on the chest.
Carries a specific roster name and number, including goalies and defensemen rather than just first-line forwards.
Every build below is one we actually carry. Match the row to how you will wear it, then pick your team.
| Build | Weight | Crest | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Breakaway | Lightest of the three | Clean supporter crest | Everyday wear and layering |
| Pro | Heavy, structured body | Sturdier crest and shoulder yoke | Weekly winter wear |
| Practice | Light training weight | Plainer, often chest-only | Team colors without a full crest |
| Player | Matches its base build | Crest plus roster name and number | Fans of one player or goalie |

Unisex White Hockey Canada Alternate Replica Custom Jersey$77.80
Unisex Red Hockey Canada Alternate Replica Custom Jersey$77.80An NHL jersey is cut wide through the body so it can be worn over a hoodie or a jacket. If you are buying for the arena in winter, take your normal size and expect it to accommodate layers. If you want it to fit close over a t-shirt alone, size down.
The cut assumes shoulder pads underneath during play and a sweater underneath in the stands, so it runs wider through the chest and longer in the body than a soccer shirt of the same size. Buying your normal size gives the intended relaxed read.
NHL teams use a white or light home design and a colored away design, which is the opposite of most other leagues. If you are matching a jersey to a specific memory or photo, check which version you are actually picturing.
The home dark and away white split is a hockey tradition older than most designs, and the crowd read depends on it — a white shirt on home ice reads as the visitor. If you go to games, the home color is the safer first buy.
The cost gap between a Breakaway and a Pro jersey is mostly the crest and the shoulder construction. If you wear a jersey weekly in winter, the heavier build holds its shape longer.
The crest is the jersey — embroidered layers hold their shape for years while a printed crest flattens and cracks. That single difference drives most of the tier pricing, which is why the higher builds are worth it on a design you plan to keep.
No other jersey in sports is worn as a jacket quite so naturally. The body is cut wide, the fabric is heavy, and the crest holds its shape. That changes how you size one: buy for the layers you will wear underneath in January, not for how it looks over a t-shirt in July.
The heavier fabric is not a flaw — it is the point. A hockey shirt works as an actual sweater from October to March, over a base layer at the rink and under nothing anywhere else. No other sports jersey earns a place in a winter rotation this way.
A hockey crest carries more history than most team marks — the circular designs, the creature marks, and the original-six styles all come from a specific period. If you are choosing between two jerseys for the same team, the crest style usually tells you which era you are actually buying.
Primary crests sit at the chest, shoulder patches mark alternates and classics, and anniversary marks appear as details you only notice up close. Reading those three layers tells you which season and which tier you are holding faster than the tag does.
The price gap between a lighter supporter build and a heavier one is mostly the crest, the shoulder yoke, and the body panel weight. If the jersey is going to be worn weekly through a winter, the heavier build keeps its shape noticeably longer. If it is for a handful of games a year, the lighter one is the better value.
Beyond the crest, the heavier fabric keeps its shape through the wash and drapes the way the design intends, while the lighter builds soften over a season. For a shirt you will wear weekly all winter, the heavier build is the cheaper choice per wear.
Only if you plan to wear it over a hoodie. An NHL jersey is already cut wide through the body. If you want a close fit over a t-shirt, take your normal size or size down one.
Breakaway is the lighter supporter build with a clean crest. Pro is heavier with a sturdier shoulder yoke and a longer body. Both are fan versions meant to be worn, not game-issued garments.
Goalie and defenseman names appear in the player jerseys alongside forwards. What we do not stock is the reinforced goalie-cut garment with the extra padding and arm risers.
That is how most people end up wearing them. Size it over whatever you would normally wear underneath in winter, and treat it as outerwear rather than a fitted top.
Yes. Women's NHL jerseys are tapered through the waist and youth jerseys are shorter and narrower. Both use their own pattern.
They are cut wide on purpose so they can be worn over a hoodie. If you want a close fit over a t-shirt, take your normal size or size down one. If you are buying for the arena in winter, take your normal size and let the layers fill it out.
Cold water, inside out, on a gentle cycle, then air dry. Do not put a heavy jersey in a dryer — the heat affects the crest before it affects anything else, and a warped crest is the one thing that cannot be fixed.
The table above is ordered by how much we currently hold for each team, so the teams at the top are the ones with the widest choice of designs and sizes right now.
Yes — each club's collection holds the heritage colorways beside the current ones, and the special-edition releases show up where the club made them. The count under each crest is the honest picture today.
Take one size up from your normal top only if the hoodie is thick; the cut already allows for a base layer at your true size. Between the two, the larger size keeps the shoulders comfortable without turning the body into a dress.
